Lilly & Rosebud
These two girls live with Shanna in Lafayette California, USA.

Lilly

Rosebud
"I
got these two sweeties a little while after my other two rats, Ginger
and Gilligan, passed away. Although
I miss my old rats, I have to say, these ratties have really stole my heart.
Lilly
is the most bizzare rat I have ever had. She is the most hyper rat I have ever
met and at times, when she is safely in my sweat shirt, (I often put her there
to prevent her from getting into trouble.) I will look in and see that she is
hopping up and down maddly. She enjoys her wheel in her cage very much, and when
she has picked up enough momentum, she will not continue running, like a normal
rat, but hop and bounce in the wheel. When Lilly and Rosebud get in the wheel
together, because of the fact Rosebud is bigger, she runs much faster than
Lilly. When Lilly gets too far behind she will simply stop running, grip onto
the wheel, and go spinning round and round until it stops. Lilly is an odd rat,
but she is also very sweet. Like my previous rats, she has learned to kiss me on
command. I'd have to say that is my favorite rat trick!
Rosebud
is the polar opposite of Lilly. She is the quite and calm rat in my house. In
fact, I often call her my "Zen Rat" because she is so meditative. One
of her favorite spots in her cage is on the cage wall wedged in between the wall
and the wheel. It has always looked quite uncomfortable to me, but what do I
know, I'm not a rat! Something else I've found quite cute is, due to her bright
red eyes, she cannot see very well and scans back and forth to compensate for
her poor eyesite. Rosebud is very graceful and is a wonderful actress. I
recently got through filming her, Lilly, and my best friends rats, Audrey and
Catherine in "Super Rat", a project for my video production class.
Rosebud was great because, unlike Lilly, she was calm and did as she was
supposed to (most of the time).
My
two rats may be quite different, but they get along great with each other and
are wonderful sweet ratties. "
