Jonathan

"These are some pics of my babies. I bought Jonathan and Nicodemus from a local pet store thinking that they were both males. As soon as I got them home and noticed how... different... they looked, I realized that Nicodemus was really a girl, and about to be a momma. Apparently Jon and Nikki had been caged together for a while, and when I got them she was pregnant. A few weeks later, Nikki gave birth to an astonishing !17! baby ratlets. Unfortunately, four of them passed within the first two days. The remaining 13 are healthy and happy and being socialized and raised to be pets. They are all beige hooded or black eyed white. Needless to say, I am keeping two of the girls and finding homes for Jonathan and the other 11 babies. Jonathan is a sweetheart of a boy, but I don't want to risk having any more litters. Nikki has been a brilliant mom, and takes really good care of all of her babies. Zoe and Sugar are the two girls my husband and I have decided to keep, but most of the others have names (although it is really hard to tell some of the white ones apart... especially since they are still so young). I think they will all make amazing pets for whoever gets them. Zoe is an active little brat, and she would prefer to explore than sit with you any day. But, when all her exploring is over, she is glad that you left her a nice warm lap to cuddle up in. Sugar is an affection hound... er... rat. She loves to just cuddle up with you and will sit there for a really long time before Zoe can persuade her to run off and sniff things. Nikki, now known as "Momma," seems to enjoy the inside of my shirt best of all. She was fairly well socialized when I bought her from the pet store, but still a bit skittish. Whenever I take her out to play the first thing that she does is find the openings of my sleeves and climb inside my shirt to get warm. She'll just stay in there and brux away...
